ISIC TravelMax - Registration

Your personal details are never released to third party companies by the ISTC, its Members or affiliated partners.

If you are asked to "sign on" to any part of this website by using your ISIC/IYTC/ITIC number, this is simply for the purpose of ensuring that the card is legitimate and that you are eligible to use that part of the site.

If you are an ISIC holder and wish to register to this site for special services, such as the Trip Planner, you will be asked to tick a data protection opt out box. If you do not tick this box, you may be sent information about specialist student services or travel-related promotions from the ISTC and/or its Members and affiliated partners.

Market research is conducted via surveys through this website from time to time and detailed answers are asked about respondents and their travel patterns. Research data collected in this manner is strictly for the use of the research and is not sold or provided to any other third party.

Forums & Message Boards - Terms of Use

The ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards are provided by ISIC as a free service to the travel community, where people can share travel advice, experiences and opinions. Ideally the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards would not need legal terms of use and on the most part ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards users respect the law, the ISIC, ISTC and other users. Unfortunately because of a small minority it is necessary to put these terms of use in place. We hope that these terms of use will not stifle useful discussion, instead making the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards more useful for everyone.

The ISIC is an association organised under Danish law with the full name International Student Identity Card Association. ISTC is the parent organisation of the ISIC and likewise an association organised under Danish law with the full name International Student Travel Confederation.

The conditions below constitute an agreement between you (as a user of the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards) and ISIC ("we", "us" or "our").

You are only permitted to use the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Your acceptance of these terms of use is indicated by you using the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards, whether you register or simply browse. You must read these terms of use carefully before using the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards. We may change these terms of use from time to time so you should check them regularly. We may contact you to inform you of these changes but are not required to.

If you are not registered you are not permitted to make postings on the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards. If you wish to contribute to the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards you must register.

Any legal issues that arise in relation to the ISIC TravelMax Forums and Message Boards, will be governed by Danish law. Any illegal activity under Danish laws using your registration of the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards is a violation of these terms of use. Since the law as to the jurisdiction of online systems is unsettled you must also consider the possible effect of laws in jurisdictions outside Denmark, for instance your country of residence. As the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards is open to users worldwide you may run into legal trouble in other jurisdictions over your postings. If this happens you must and can not hold us responsible for your postings.

In these terms of use, "post(s)" and "postings" includes private messages, usernames and user profiles.

How the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards are run

As ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards users make postings without intervention from us it is the responsibility of every user to adhere to these terms of use. Despite this, in the interests of an effective community, we occasionally monitor postings and reserve the right to remove material, which is in breach of the wording or spirit of these terms of use without notice to the poster. We also reserve the right, at our discretion, to ban users who breach these terms of use, and delete all postings of those users.

Users should be aware that postings are not screened by us, and that user postings only represent the opinions and experience of that user. Postings do not represent our opinion. You should be very careful before you rely on anything said in the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards. If you do rely on information or opinion in any posting you must be aware that this will not be our responsibility. This is especially important with health related postings - postings may not be from medical professionals (even if the user purports to be a medical professional) so you should always seek competent professional advice. Please exercise common sense and make your own inquiries.

If you wish to share a useful Internet resource with other ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards users you should provide a hyperlink to the relevant resource. If you do this you need to be aware that many site operators do not permit people to link to pages below the front page or home page of their site, so before posting a hyperlink on the ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards you should check the terms of use of that other web site to see if your hyperlink is permitted.

With respect to your moral rights in your postings, you consent to your postings being used, copied, published, transmitted, exhibited, performed, communicated or adapted as we see fit. We generally attribute authorship, but it is not always possible. You consent to us not attributing authorship to you at all, or only attributing it to your ISIC TravelMax Forums & Message Boards username (at our discretion). If we elect to attribute authorship we will make reasonable efforts to attribute authorship to you or your username, but if a mistake is made and authorship is falsely attributed, you consent to that false attribution in those circumstances.
